My Story

Growing up I always believed that there were bigger things in life waiting for me, so I kept my eyes wide open for such opportunities. Life in Poland in the late 1990s was all about rapid changes as Poland emerged from the shadow of communism into so awaited democracy. I still remember empty shelves and nothing in the grocery stores other than bottles of vinegar and stacks of toilet paper. Everything was rationed. Each family was getting monthly food stamps for meat, sugar, butter etc. A bag of oranges for Christmas. You have no idea how much excitement it was to smell and try fresh oranges! They are still one of my most favorite things as they take me back in time to people and places I miss so much. So how I ended up all the way across the ocean?? During my high school years I could see things around me changing unbelievably quickly, from nothing to everything in stores, forbidden music was not forbidden anymore, art, electronics, jeans, from the Western world. Could we afford all these things?? Not at all but I started to wonder what life must look like on the other side and traveling became my dream. France was definitely on top of my list, England next. How little did I know?

After graduating college, I was struggling to find a decent paying job and came across an internship opportunity in sales and marketing in Denver, CO. I didn’t think twice. Packed one suitcase and a couple months later I shipped myself to Denver. This was supposed to be just a two year internship but once I settled, I started building my life the way I always wanted. Independent and free of covenants with the ability to experience new things. That’s how I got myself into mountain biking and my life was never the same! Now, I am trying to ride as often as I can, pushing myself to learn new skills and just having fun.

My entire life I have always been very curious what’s next for me and what’s the next thing I am capable of doing. That lead to becoming a self-taught graphic designer that mastered Adobe Illustrator in a short three weeks watching all YouTube tutorials I could find. My entrepreneur’s dream has come to life combining all my favorite things: mountain biking, graphic design and coffee! Once I’ve got the idea, it all came together literally overnight and just like that the Singletrack&me was born! Life is a precious thing and never underestimate what you can do with it. It is worth trying and pushing yourself to the limits. Live a passionate life! I do!!!
